Editor’s note

There is nothing here yet, and we would rather say so

A blog with four invented posts and a stock photograph of an office is worse than an empty one. It tells you the company had time to fill a page and not much else. This page will stay in this state until there is something worth the read.

When it does start, it will not be a release-notes feed. The interesting parts of this product are the arguments: why a bounce needs a duration threshold as well as a pageview count, why the visitor salt rotates daily even though it costs us clean return-visitor figures, why every rollup is a full recompute instead of an increment. Those are the posts we want to write.

In the meantime

Product changes are announced inside the app — Notifications carries release announcements for your account, so nothing important depends on you remembering to check a blog.

What it will be filed under

Labels, not filters. They become filters the day there is more than one post to filter.

Measurement
Why a metric is defined the way it is — the ten-second bounce threshold, the rotating visitor salt, and what each choice costs you.
Engineering
How the ingest path stays under its latency budget, why every rollup is a full recompute, and what breaks when it is not.
Privacy
Consent modes in practice, what is discarded at the edge, and the questions we cannot answer for your jurisdiction.
Product notes
What shipped, what it replaced, and what was deliberately left out of the release.

Already written, elsewhere on this site

Four pages that are prose rather than reference tables, if you came here looking for something to read.

  1. 01Install guide

The snippet, four framework variants, the three consent modes, and what to check when verification comes back empty.

    Guide
  2. 02Metric glossary

The arithmetic behind every figure on a dashboard, indexed A–Z. The closest thing we have written to an essay on measurement.

    Reference
  3. 03Documentation

What np.js collects, the five commands it exposes, and what is discarded before anything is written down.

    Docs
  4. 04Cookie & tracking notice

Written to be read rather than skipped: exactly what lands on a visitor’s device, and what each mode changes about it.
